Irregularly Shaped Human: Trelawny Tee Finished
In my February post, I detailed my journey to lengthening four sweaters I'd knit. You see, I am an irregularly shaped human. I'm tall-ish at 5"8'. My legs are longer than my torso and my torso and upper arms are larger than most patterns that fit my bust.
After all these sweaters I've knit, it has finally stuck in my brain that I need to add at least 4' to the body of all my sweaters. The extra bonus is I have less yarn left over. Less scraps are a good thing when you have a house full of yarn.

I had planned on starting with the Love Note sweater I knit but time got away from me. Winter turned to spring before I could add my four inches so I switched up my plan and started with my Trelawny Sweater instead.
I got two inches in before I realized that the gauge was very different. Thank goodness I hadn't gotten that far. I ripped it out and added the 4' inches on a size 4 needles.
Another decision I made was to set aside the yarn I used for the ribbing and then used it for the ribbing again. That prevented my 4 added inches from being crinkly.
Last thing I did was to steam block the new inches. The sweater fit well before and I didn't feel like I needed to block the whole thing. Also, by using the iron to steam block, I could focus on the new inches and steam them to match the rest of the sweater.

I wore my newly lengthened sweater to Sunday stitch group. Maryland is giving us a stretch of warming than normal days and it was nice to have a short-sleeved tee to wear.
I may start working on my Love Note now so it will be ready when the weather changes again.
