Giveaway: Spring Sweater & Sock KAL/CAL
Get on your mark. Cast on. GO!
Today our KAL/CAL is starting! I am so excited about this. Uncle Brian and I haven't done a KAL/CAL in a while and we are looking forward to having you all join us.
Here are the details again:
- The KAL/CAL will run from May 1st to May 31st.
- WIPs are allowed, so dig out that project from hibernation.
- It does not have to be AT Haynes House Yarns. All yarn is welcome.
- Be sure to tag us in our social media posts. We want to see what you're making. Use the hashtag #AHHYTeamSweater or #AHHYTeamSock. We'll be sharing your posts to our stories.
For the Team Sweater, I will be reknitting my Summer Sorrel Sweater by Wool & Pine. The pattern can be found on their website, www.woolandpine.com. I knit this sweater once in my Mulan: Late Bloomer colorway and I'll be doing it again...in the right size this time. I really enjoyed some of the features of the sweater and I feel that it will go much faster now that I'm familiar with what I'm doing.
Brian will be knitting Border Socks by Mary Jane Mucklestone for team sock. This is an amazing colorwork sock. The pattern is available on the Interweave website, https://www.interweave.com/article/knitting/border-socks/. He has chosen our Night People, High School Sweethearts, No Frills Brown. That's going to be a lovely sock.
There is a giveaway, too. One winner will be selected from this thread. All you have to do is comment on this post. You can share what sweater or sock you're going to create. Or you can cheer the other participants on.
The prize is a $50 gift card from our shop. You can enter until May 31st. One entry person and the winner will be chosen by random generator. We will announce the winners on June 1st.
Let's get that yarn flowing and good luck!
I stumbled across your instagram page and found my way to your site. If I weren’t moving on Thursday, I’d be ordering yarn from you but I don’t want to risk it getting lost in the transition. In the meantime, my current WIP is a shawl, Fortune’s Shawlette by Tamara Kelly using some stash yarn a friend dyed. It’s a dead easy pattern so I suspect I’ll end up making multiples not just because my sister is making grabby hands moves, but it’s a good project to work on while watching tv. I might have to grab some of your Mulan Late Bloomer for it once I can take a breath in the new place.
Sheesh! I forgot to mention the summery drop shoulder t-shirt I completed — and this is a sweater and sock KAL!!!
I am excited I found this! I am just finishing my lacy, linen & silk, deep plum cowl. I’ve also finished a couple of pair of booties for a co-worker’s little-one-on-the-way.
I’ll be a great cheerleader for all of you!
Cheering everyone on. Working up the courage to knit socks! Love that blue!!! 💙
